Its position offers a magnificent panorama all the way to the sea.
The Adrech windmill was built between 1746 and 1776, the date of a ground rent lease by its owner, sieur Clément Guillabert, master surgeon of La Garde-Freinet. We learn that the tower was not plastered, that the wings were made of pine wood, as was the roof, and that the millstones, revolving and standing, were made of a single piece of Marseille stone.
The last known mention of the mill is a deed of sale dated June 1841. A certain Tropez Ollivier, a former wheat miller, was forced to sell the mill to pay off his debts. It was bought by the village baker, Antoine Montagnac, for the sum of 2,400 francs and 8 kg of white bread per week for the rest of his life. 20 years later, the mill ceased to operate for good.
