Agenda
Guided tour : Workshop of the little beaver farmer at the Chataigneraie Godissard
Like real chestnut growers, equipped with the little “Saquet” around their waist, the children will go about harvesting the chestnuts.
After collecting them, they will have to sort them, especially if they want to make good jam! This will be an opportunity to see the parasites, the animals that love our fruit, the traces…
What is the difference between chestnuts and marrons? How old are the trees? How do you get new chestnut trees?
Children will get the answers to all these questions and learn how to count the rings to find out the age of the trees using a small slice of wood.
Finally, to finish this harvest, “castagnade” around a wood fire, roasted chestnuts and tasting of our chestnut cream!
